Gathered ("we," "our," or "us") is a family meal planning and grocery app. This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and your rights.
Account information. When you create an account we collect your email address and name, managed securely through Clerk (our authentication provider).
Profile & preferences. We store your dietary preferences, zip code, family size, and meal-planning settings so the app can personalize your experience.
Recipes & meal plans. Recipes you save, import, or generate, and the weekly meal plans you create, are stored in our database linked to your account.
Grocery & supplement lists. Shopping lists and supplement schedules you create are stored to sync across your devices.
Community content. If you post in the Gathered community feed, your display name and post content are visible to other subscribers.
Usage data. We collect anonymized analytics (app crashes, screen views) to improve reliability. We do not sell analytics data.
Purchase data. Subscription payments on iOS are processed by Apple through Apple In-App Purchase. On web, payments are processed by Stripe. We do not store your full card number; Stripe and Apple handle all payment details.
Camera & photo library. If you use the supplement-scan feature, photos are processed on our server using AI to extract supplement information. Photos are not stored after processing.
We do not sell your personal information. We share data only with the service providers needed to operate Gathered:
We keep your account data for as long as your account is active. You may request deletion of your account and associated data at any time by emailing us (see contact below). After deletion requests we remove personal data within 30 days, except where retention is required by law.
Gathered is not directed to children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided us information, please contact us and we will delete it promptly.
We use industry-standard encryption in transit (HTTPS/TLS) and at rest for your data. Passwords are never stored — authentication is handled by Clerk. No system is perfectly secure; we encourage you to use a strong, unique password for your email account.
Depending on your location you may have the right to access, correct, or delete your personal data, or to request a copy of it. To exercise these rights, email us at the address below.
We may update this policy periodically. When we make material changes we will update the "Last updated" date above. Continued use of the app after changes constitutes acceptance of the revised policy.
